This blog compiles some learnings and discoveries from my personal experience in software development and systems. It also includes thoughts and investigations about related topics.

Some of the things I do work with:

  • Elixir
  • Containers
  • Keycloak
  • LDAP
  • Kerberos
  • Linux
  • the “Shell”

A reflection on why

So much information can be esaily accessed by search engine that you (and I) may wonder why bother writing more about what already exists. I doubted the value of it and recorded very little, but then a funning thing happened.

I had a kerberos problem and I did a bunch of searching using the messages and details I had at hand. One of the search results looked promising, only to discover that I’d written the post (here) about the very problem I had (again). I had solved the problem, posted and forgot enough about it to discover in the future a solution I’d already written about.

Despite the exhaustive content available, there are still unique paths to unique (or poorly covered) problems. However, even in cases where a single search and click provides answers, finding those answer again is not assured. If I am the constant in these problems, then my own record of the solutions is more probably of use than might be initially apparent.
